Primarily to help you prepare for taking the Admissions Test generally given by most Technical Colleges and other institutions to meet admission requirements. If you have been out of school for a while it can be a little intimidating thinking about coming back to school and the first thing you have to do is take a test on subjects that you have not studied for years. zTech will eliminate any fear you have about taking the Admissions Test and completely prepare you if you use zTech's preparation software in it's entirity. If you are a high school student needing to pass all three sections of the Admissions Test in order to be enrolled as a dual enrollment student. Even if you feel your basic writing, reading, and math skills are up to par, zTech will show you exactly what to expect on the Admissions Test so that there are no surprises. This is one program that can make a difference whether or not you pass the Admissions Test. This program is a must for those entering a Technical College or any other education institution that uses the Admissions Test for entrance requirements. If you do not pass the Admissions Test, you will be required to take developmental classes which can slow you down 2- 3 quarters (this will vary on how many developmental classes you will need and how many classes you can take each quarter) in your pursuit of a degree, diploma or certificate. Will zTech prepare me for the Admissions test? Absolutely! zTech was specifically designed to not only help you pass the Admissions Test but to teach you basic writing, reading, numerical and algebra skills that will stay with you. The tests used in zTech will be similar to the Admissions Test but with entirely different questions. zTech will allow you know what to expect on the Admissions Test and to prepare for it thoroughly through detailed explanations of every question on every test and a diagnostic report that will pin point the areas that you need to study the most. There is also a real time timer built into each test section of zTech that will give you the opportunity to take the test under the clock. Does zTech look like the Admissions Test? Yes. However, the questions used in zTech are not the same as the ones you will see in the Admissions Test, but they will be the exact same type of questions. We are very confident that if you will use zTech in its entirity that you will have the best possible chance of passing all three sections (or four) of the Admissions test the first time. z7 Web cannot guarantee that you will pass but we can promise that you will be completely prepared if you use zTech properly.

Will zTech prepare me for the computerized version of the Admissions Test? Yes. The questions used in the computerized version of the Admissions Test are very similar to the ones used in the standard book version of the Admissions Test. zTech will also help people become more familiar with taking a test on a computer. Some people are intimidated by using a computer in the first place much less taking a test on one. zTech will be a powerful learning tool in this situation by helping people become more comfortable taking a computerized test even though zTech looks different than the actual computerized version. What operating system do I need to run zTech? zTech is compatible with Windows 95, 98, 98 SE, Me, XP Pro and XP Home Edition, 2000 and NT. What are the minimum hardware requirements needed to run zTech? 1. Intel Pentium Processor To install the zTech software follow these instructions NOTE: If you see a screen that says the file you are installing is older than the version on your computer during the installation process, keep YOUR original file. The computer will recommend that you do this as well. To Uninstall in Windows 95, 98, 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP or NT: Use the standard uninstall feature "Add/Remove Programs"
in the 1. Click on Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs Do I start the timer myself or does zTech do it automatically? You have total control over the timer. It is there as an option. zTech will not start the timer automatically when you access the specific testing section. To start the timer simply click on "Start Timer" inside the given testing section. The timer will count down from 25:00. Remember each section in the Admissions Test is 25 minutes long. I just used zTech and printed my diagnostic report but when I exited zTech and came back in my scores were not longer there. Why is this? You can view all of your diagnostic reports for each testing section as many times as you want while the program is running. Once you exit zTech, the scores will be reset. Be sure to print off your diagnostic results prior to exiting zTech. zTech was specifically designed this way because in most settings there will be multiple users using zTech and privacy of student scores is of utmost importance. What does this error mean?
Run-time error '75': The specified Path/file name cannot be accessed
or is invalid! If you receive this Run-time error when using the zTech program then you have deleted or moved one or more of the critical files. To fix this problem simply uninstall zTech and then reinstall it again. NOTE: To avoid this error NEVER remove any of the installed files out the zTech directory because the program will not function properly. If you accidently do so, simply uninstall zTech and then reinstall it again. |
