zTech Frequently Asked Questions

How can I purchase zTech?

There are several ways that you can purchase zTech. You can order it through our secure online store or through our online contact form.

There are two different types of Licenses to purchase.

1. Unlimited Site License to Organizations or entities such as high schools, technical colleges, and businesses that use the Admissions Test for job requirements. ZUSL V 1.0.

zTech will only be sold as an Annual End-User License Agreement that must be renewed annually. z7 Web will also work out other term contracts in order to receive price breaks. The purchase price will be $595.00 per year and must be renewed yearly unless z7 Web has worked out other term contract agreements. This License agreement will allow the purchasing organization to install zTech on as many computers as they want. Also, anyone that is directly affiliated with the purchasing organization can use zTech. This gives the organization full access to use zTech. This eliminates nit picky software contracts that limit the number of computers that the software can be installed on and the number of users who can use it. z7 Web will not sell organizations or entities single licensed copies of zTech.

2. Single License Purchase to an individual. ZSL V 1.0.

zTech can be purchased by an individual to use on their own computer. This is a single license and can only be installed on one computer and can only be used by the individual who purchased zTech. The price for a single license is $20.00.

Why do I need zTech?

Primarily to help you prepare for taking the Admissions Test generally given by most Technical Colleges and other institutions to meet admission requirements.

If you have been out of school for a while it can be a little intimidating thinking about coming back to school and the first thing you have to do is take a test on subjects that you have not studied for years. zTech will eliminate any fear you have about taking the Admissions Test and completely prepare you if you use zTech's preparation software in it's entirity.

If you are a high school student needing to pass all three sections of the Admissions Test in order to be enrolled as a dual enrollment student. Even if you feel your basic writing, reading, and math skills are up to par, zTech will show you exactly what to expect on the Admissions Test so that there are no surprises.

This is one program that can make a difference whether or not you pass the Admissions Test. This program is a must for those entering a Technical College or any other education institution that uses the Admissions Test for entrance requirements.

If you do not pass the Admissions Test, you will be required to take developmental classes which can slow you down 2- 3 quarters (this will vary on how many developmental classes you will need and how many classes you can take each quarter) in your pursuit of a degree, diploma or certificate.

Take full advantage of this powerful preparation software that will give you the best chance of passing the Admissions Test.

Will zTech prepare me for the Admissions test?

Absolutely! zTech was specifically designed to not only help you pass the Admissions Test but to teach you basic writing, reading, numerical and algebra skills that will stay with you. The tests used in zTech will be similar to the Admissions Test but with entirely different questions.

zTech will allow you know what to expect on the Admissions Test and to prepare for it thoroughly through detailed explanations of every question on every test and a diagnostic report that will pin point the areas that you need to study the most.

There is also a real time timer built into each test section of zTech that will give you the opportunity to take the test under the clock. This is an invaluable feature because the time limit on this test is the number one complaint from students who take it. Look at the main fetures of zTech:

zTech Main Features

1. Test Taking Tips: Gives you valuable pointers and tips on taking the Admission Test

2. Actual Admission Test like questions: Questions are similar to what you will see on the actual Admissions Test.

3. Explanations are given for every question in each section. If you miss a question or even if you answer it correctly, you can use the “View Explanation” feature which will give you the correct answer along with the reason why it is the correct answer. This feature will help you the most if you use it and learn the principles each explanation gives.

4. Diagnostic Results and Final Score: This will give you an actual score just as the Admission Test would give you. Along with that, it will show you all the questions in order and whether or not you answered them correctly or incorrectly. If you answered the question incorrectly, the zTech program will show you what areas you need to improve on. This is another valuable feature because it pin points specifically the areas you need to study. You can print these results out and use them as a study guide so you know what you need to go study.

5. Built in Timer allows students the option of taking the tests in real time to practice test time management. This is an important feature because one of the number one complaints by prospective students taking the Admissions Test is that they did not have enough time. This timer will give them the opportunity to master the clock.

What is on the Admissions Test?

The Admissions Test has 4 sections to it. In most cases though, you will only be required to take the first three sections. Here are the four sections:

Writing Skills - 36 Questions
>> english grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, organization & style

Reading Skills -
24 Questions
>> must be able to understand the meanings of words in context of the passage, main theme or ideas, supporting theme or ideas, inference, logical structure and style, and tone type questions.

Numerical Skills -
32 Questions
>> fractions, decimals, percentages, word problems, real numbers, exponential numbers

Algebra Skills -
25 Questions
(this section is only required for some programs)
>> simplifying and evaluating algebraic expressions, quadratic and linear equations, polynomials, integers

Does zTech look like the Admissions Test?

Yes. However, the questions used in zTech are not the same as the ones you will see in the Admissions Test, but they will be the exact same type of questions.

We are very confident that if you will use zTech in its entirity that you will have the best possible chance of passing all three sections (or four) of the Admissions test the first time. z7 Web cannot guarantee that you will pass but we can promise that you will be completely prepared if you use zTech properly.

Who is zTech for?

High school students attempting to enroll as a dual enrollment student with a local technical college or looking to enroll in a technical college after they graduate high school.

Prospective students who have been out of school for a while. Taking a test can be very intimidating if you have not kept up with writing, reading, math and algebra skills.

Technical colleges who use the Admissions Test for their entrance requirements (standard book version or the computerized version.

Any entity that uses the Admissions Test for academic testing evaluations.

Anyone needing help on basic writing, reading, numerical and algebra skills.

Will zTech prepare me for the computerized version of the Admissions Test?

Yes. The questions used in the computerized version of the Admissions Test are very similar to the ones used in the standard book version of the Admissions Test.

zTech will also help people become more familiar with taking a test on a computer. Some people are intimidated by using a computer in the first place much less taking a test on one. zTech will be a powerful learning tool in this situation by helping people become more comfortable taking a computerized test even though zTech looks different than the actual computerized version.

I just used zTech and printed my diagnostic report but when I exited zTech and came back in my scores were not longer there. Why is this?

You can view all of your diagnostic reports for each testing section as many times as you want while the program is running. Once you exit zTech, the scores will be reset. Be sure to print off your diagnostic results prior to exiting zTech. zTech was specifically designed this way because in most settings there will be multiple users using zTech and privacy of student scores is of utmost importance.
